Former Evil Geniuses coach Chet Singh has found himself a new home. The coveted NA brain has signed a contract with 100 Thieves who have been on the lookout for a new man behind the wheel since parting ways with Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović.
Chet almost conceded to Valorant
Chet Singh came out with a short post to announce his new partnership with 100 Thieves. The word Valorant was dropped in there. A word so often linked with North American CS:GO personnel in 2020. Chet stated that the lack of worthwhile offers within CS:GO had almost made him consider “signing his life away” to Valorant, but 100 Thieves came at the right moment to save him from that unenviable fate.

Chet Singh became well known as the man outside the server guiding Evil Geniuses, formerly NRG, to the best spell in the team’s history. In the two years he spent with NRG/EG, Chet won a total of four trophies – two with each organization. The culmination of that period was ESL One New York 2019 where Evil Geniuses defeated Astralis in the Grand Final. Back then, things were looking up.

Last month, however, EG dropped the bomb that they would relieve Chet of his duties. A lot of info came out in the aftermath of that decision, revealing all kinds of troubles between the coach and team leaders Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and Tarik “tarik” Celik which ultimately led to Chet’s dismissal.

Shortly after, 100 Thieves parted ways with their own coach kassad. The amount of drama behind the decision was not anywhere near what EG and Chet went through. Results were disappointing, so out goes the coach.
Thus, a match made in heaven was created. This move seemed quite natural the moment kassad left, so it’s only surprising that it didn’t happen sooner. Now it’s up to Chet and the 100 Thieves players to make it work. Their first opportunity to demonstrate early day synergy will be at DreamHack Masters Spring North America where they are seeded in Group B alongside Gen.G, Cloud9 and… Evil Geniuses.
