After a heartbreaking loss to Fnatic, Misfits chalk up one more loss as they were dismantled by an on-point Rogue squad.
The clash between Rogue and Misfits has been one of the low-key rivalries in the spring as the two teams jostled for playoff spots and then faced each other in a direct elimination series. However, Rogue managed to get both the head-to-head games and the best of five match. Yet Misfits looked stronger for the summer - perhaps it is now their time to shine?
Unfortunately, they started very much on the wrong foot as Mads "Doss" Schwartz died in the opening minute of the game trying to get an early ward, then got killed again just three minutes into the game from an early gank. Misfits jungler Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz tried to gank in several lanes and salvage the game, but more often than not, his counterpart Kacper "Inspired" Słoma either struck first or counterganked to turn the situation in Rogue’s favor. They never lost the gold lead they had accrued early on and the mid-game started, good map movement and several mistakes by Misfits caused it to balloon to nearly 7K at the 20-minute mark.
Misfits tried to steal an early Baron but were quickly found out and rooted and from then on it was ll Rogue. The Blue team got a mountain soul 24 minutes, rotated for a Baron and took two inhibitors.A last-ditch engage by Misfits only hastened the inevitable as their opponents took four kills and ended the game.
It has been a very good week for Rogue so far as they not only won two victories but looked impressive in both. Against Misfits, they were a fair bit more aggressive than we had seen them. If this keeps up, things are looking bright for the Rogue line-up. As for Misfits, after a lot of pre-season hype they are now looking at a 0:2 start.
