Just last week we saw a major change in the PSG.LGD roster, which proved to be a very short-term one. Ahjit is out.

Ahjit replaced before the open qualifiers

As we previously reported, PSG.LGD swapped their carry player Wang "Ame" Chunyu for Lai "Ahjit" Jay Son from CDEC.

That happened on February 7, and just five days later, things changed yet again. According to the team's Weibo page, Ahjit didn't fit well with the team so they quickly chose a replacement – Li "ASD" Zhiwen. ASD last played for the Chinese team Revive but is most well-known for his time on EHOME when they successfully took the Bucharest Minor trophy in 2019.

For now, Ahjit is still part of the organization but has been switched to an inactive role. Chances are, we'll see him get transferred to another team soon.

PSG.LGD trumped by Blaze in the open qualifiers

After all these swaps, it came as no surprise that the team was lacking in some departments. Not making it through the open qualifiers wasn't the expected outcome, though, but that's exactly what happened.

Team Blaze, which features the popular female streamer Bi “AXX” Xia, managed to take out the powerhouse with a 2-0 in the finals. Ironically, the one player from LGD who actually made it to the closed qualifiers is Ame, as his new team CDEC received a direct invitation to the event. The second team who earned a spot thanks to the open qualifiers is Astralis. Before you get all excited, despite its name, the team appears to have no connection to the Danish CS:GO organization.

The China closed qualifiers for the LA Major start tomorrow, February 14, and will last up until Monday, February 17, so we'll still see plenty of Dota 2 action in the days to follow. Here's the list of teams who made it:

  • Team Aster
  • Invictus Gaming
  • CDEC Gaming
  • Keen Gaming
  • EHOME
  • Royal Never Give Up
  • Newbee
  • Astralis
  • Blaze
  • Look for Smile

The team with the highest placement in the Leipzig Major were Vici Gaming, but they've decided to skip the next Minor/Major tournaments. The next-best team to look out for are Invictus Gaming as they finished 5th-6th in the most recent event. Right after the conclusion of the Major qualifiers, we'll have the closed qualifiers for the Kiev Minor, starting February 18. Get ready for some more Dota 2!
