Check out the Legend and weapon balancing changes coming in Apex Legends Season 13.
Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors is set to launch today (May 5) and it is going to be one of the most game-changing updates ever seen in the battle royale. Of course, there is the usual new battle pass and Legend (Newcastle) but also a series of gameplay tweaks and map changes that look set to change the meta significantly.
There are also a number of buffs and nerfs to both the game's Legends and its burgeoning arsenal of weapons and items.
To keep up to speed, check out all the buffs and nerfs happening in Apex Legends Season 13 below.
Apex Legends Season 13: Weapon and Item Buffs and Nerfs
In Season 13, it is very much the game's weaponry that is being tweaked with only two Legends getting looked at. On the weapons front, the Kraber, Rampage, Devotion, and Havoc all receive changes, while guns like the R-301 will no longer be ground loot.
There are some major weapon balance changes in Season 13 with many of the game's snipers being drastically reduced in their power and changing where they stand in the Apex Legends weapon tier list.
Those most drastically nerfed include the Kraber sniper rifle; its headshot multiplier has gone from 3 to 2 and its base damage has been reduced from 145 to 140. This will drastically reduce the weapon's ability to one-shot kill and will force would-be snipers to be ready to push in and clear up any damaged opponents.
The M600 Spitfire is also much weaker in Season 13. From its base damage being decreased from 19 to 18, and its magazine capacity falling from 55 to 50 in its Purple and Gold variants, these are just some of the huge changes made to the gun. Its barrel attachment slot is also gone, and its mobility has been hugely disrupted with changes to its draw, holster, and raise times. The Spitfire has been a menace of a gun and these changes are going to drastically affect its power in the games.
There are also a series of buffs to some of the less powerful guns, the most improved is the Mastiff shotgun. While it has a reduced ammo capacity in Season 13, it boasts a tighter bullet spread, increased damage per pellet, and increased fire rate. All-in-all it is a much more deadly weapon now in the hands of those that like to get up close.
There are also some tweaks to the Rampage, LSTAR, Devotion, Havoc, Mozambique, and Peacekeeper - check out the Apex Legends Season 13 patch notes for a breakdown of those changes.
Helping players defend themselves to get pesky snipers is also present in the item changes. Blue and Purple Helmets have had their headshot damage reduction increased, giving you a better chance of surviving a shot to the dome. Though don't expect to just be able to get hit and keep going, Cells and Syringe spawn rates have been reduced by 18% meaning there is a lot less healing utility on the map.
These changes point to Season 13 being about aggression; depleting an opponent's shield with a sniper and pushing in quickly to mop up with a shotgun or SMG.
Apex Legends Season 13: All Legend Buffs and Nerfs
When it comes to the game's Legends, it is Valkyrie and Rampart who are facing changes. For Rampart, buffs will improve her Amped Cover and Sheila spin. Rampart has been a pretty lackluster Legend since she arrived in the games, and coupled with the weapon changes, her Amped Cover should prove more useful in the new meta.
For the powerful Valkyrie, her Skyward Dive can no longer be used to gather information, reducing her impact just a bit - though we feel that the changes will likely not have removed her from the S-Tier of Legends.
And that's all there is to say about the buffs and nerfs from the recent patch. We'll keep you posted when the next update drops!
