Astralis are expanding their roster. The Danish giants who returned to the number one spot in the world rankings last week acquired Jakob “JUGi” Hansen.
The Danish team has long said that they want to expand their roster and now they are adding to it with Jakob “JUGi” Hansen. JUGi was previously tied to North but the AWP player didn’t see much playtime towards the end of his stint there and was benched before he left the team.

Now, just a couple weeks later, JUGi has found a new, yet familiar home with Astralis, where, according to team coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen he has already adapted and contributed in his first practice session:
He has already participated in a practice session where he adapted and contributed as we expected. CS:GO is a demanding game, however, and it requires an extremely high level of teamplay and understanding of the game, internal roles and agreements. I hope and believe that “JUGi” will adapt and integrate into the team and our way of working, and I really look forward to working with him.
The AWP expert JUGi is also quite happy to be at Astralis and excited for what lies ahead:
"It feels like coming home [...] I’ve had some great times here and being able to wear the jersey with the red star on the chest is just… It’s a pressure, it’s humbling and it’s motivating as nothing else!"
JUGi is happy to return to the place where’s found some success in the past, while also fully aware that he didn’t quite deliver at North.
"I’ve not been as consistent in my performance as I want to be, but I know what I can do under the right conditions and luckily so do Kasper Hvidt and Danny. Also, I will play with a group of incredibly skilled players on a team where the combined performance is always in focus, which is something I’ve missed at times."
We have signed @JUGiOfficial to the team!Ultimately, Jakob will become the 7th member of the Astralis roster.Full story: https://t.co/HSZXTZ2h4r#ToTheStars pic.twitter.com/toGZKt3xaM
