The major update originally announced for Tuesday, March 24 has been postponed indefinitely. It was supposed to introduce a new operator and map for Modern Warfare and several new weapons for Warzone.
The update announced for this morning was supposed to bring four new weapons to the Battle Royale mode along with some stuff for Modern Warfare players to get excited about. However, Infinity Ward announced the postponement of the update on Twitter later on the night:
Tonight's scheduled title update is being delayed and is set to release in the coming days. This update includes our new Operator, Talon, new free modes, and our next free multiplayer map, Khandor Hideout. Please stay tuned for more details and updates on release timing!

The new map – Khandor Hideout
Modern Warfare multiplayer enthusiasts are feverishly waiting for new maps and the new update is going to take care of those needs.
The upcoming map – Khandor Hideout, is located in the Urzikstan region, familiar from the campaign, and is designed for 6 vs. 6 game modes. According to the developers, it will offer both long lines of sight in outdoor areas and many narrow areas. The map will allow long range duels - yes, that means all thoroughbred snipers - as well as close combat for the player to let off that steam.
The new operator – Talon
The coalition will be strengthened by the newly announced operator Talon. He even seems to bring his dog Indiana with him, but he will only be seen in Talon's finishing sequences.
As usual, this operator is also activated by a bundle, which must be paid with credits. His bundle will also contain two legendary weapon blueprints and two animal skips that will let you skip levels in Battle Pass.
The new CoD: Warzone weapons
As already mentioned Warzone is also getting new content. The Duo and Squad modes are not yet included in this update, but four weapons will be added to the loot pool. Those are:
- The 725 Shotgun
- The MK2 karabiner
- The .50 GS (Desert Eagle)
- The EBR-14 Rifle
All these weapons can be found with or without attachments. For Modern Warfare players, these are all well-known weapons, but now they will become available to everyone - even without having to create individual loadouts for them.
We will have to show patience on this occasion as Infinity Ward did not give any specific timeframe for the update’s official release. We know you’ve got time to spare currently, so why not check what’s been happening in the world of Call of Duty lately?
