Mention Warzone online and you'll almost certainly be met with people complaining about cheaters. And they'd be right to. It's a night and day difference in the quality of experience between PC and console, and all because PC has to deal with cheaters. It's why a lot of players, even bigger influences, have fallen off. So news that it's being seriously addressed can only come as a good thing.

Activision Blizzard has teased us with it for some time, but now we're getting the first real details about their new anti-cheat system - Ricochet.

What Will The Ricochet Anti-Cheat System Do Differently?

A very good question, because we have already had some form of anti-cheat in the game for a long while. The new Ricochet anti-cheat system offers a more aggressive approach in seeking out cheaters; it's an internally developed kernel-level driver so it will be much harder for the companies who develop and sell cheats to bypass. That does also mean it will have almost unprecedented access to your PC, but it will only be PCs that are affected by Ricochet. And that makes perfect sense - cheats are exclusive to PC, with the exception of third-party recoil correctors like the Cronus system.

What will the punishment be if you're caught cheating? This time around you can expect hardware bans, so simply getting a new account won't work.

When Will CoD's Ricochet Anti-Cheat System Launch?

The new Ricochet anti-cheat system has been in the works for over a year now, and it will be implemented into Warzone when the new Pacific map is released. We're almost certain this is coming at the end of the current season, so on or around December 2, although we can't guarantee it 100%. But we do know Ricochet is coming - phew.
