In Season 5 Call of Duty completely abandoned any notion of Vanguard or Caldera still being set in WW2, and that's symbolized best by this laser rifle. Don't ask why it's in the game, but hey, it is really good. Here's the best attachment setup.
When Vanguard started it made a genuine commitment to its own lore. Then we got King Kong and Godzilla, and even Snoop Dogg. So it should be no surprise to anyone that this has been completely abandoned now. Vanguard and Calder just exist in their own weird timeline, and no one really cares because we're basically all waiting for Warzone 2 now.
But anyway, say hello to the new laser rifle, sorry I mean "Assault Rifle". This is the EX1, it's superb, and you don't even need to reload it, it just needs to cool down after a certain amount of shots. What's also particularly cool is that the EX1 can also be played as a sniper with some special attachments. Here we show you the two best setups for the EX1.
The Best AR EX1 Attachment Setup
Component | Attachment |
Muzzle | TLL Disk Trim |
Barrel | SD Instant Grat |
Optic | SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x |
Stock | AC-Titanium Anchor |
Underbarrel | Ion Hand Stop |
Magazine | DIM X-Circuit Battery |
Rear Grip | Hatched Grip |
Perk | Steady |
Perk 2 | On-Hand |
The build above is for an AR setup, because we think that's what most users will like the most. While these attachments have weird names you'll all be familiar with the kind of tradeoff we're doing; extra range, a good fire rate, extended magazine (in a way), and some recoil control. In exchange, we sacrificed some mobility, but it's still not going to feel slow at all for an AR.
The Best Sniper EX1 Attachement Setup
Muzzle | TLL Disk Trim |
Barrel | Charge AMP PV |
Optic | SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x |
Stock | Removed Stock |
Underbarrel | SMLW Pistol Grip |
Magazine | DIM X-Circuit Battery |
Rear Grip | Leather Grip |
Perk | Focus |
Perk 2 | On-Hand |
The most important change here is the barrel. The barrel on the sniper version of the EX1 allows you to fire a single shot that will kill every player with just one hit. We get massively more damage and range, but the weapon is no longer fully automatic. Especially in multiplayer, the EX1 becomes a good quick-scope sniper.
It honestly looks like something from the jetpack era, but hey, we rate the jetpack games fairly highly in our tier ranking of all CoDs.
The Best Secondary, Grenades & Perks For An EX1 Loadout
The Best Secondary Weapon For The EX1
The Marco 5 was nerfed in this patch, but it remains a fantastic choice for anyone who likes to play with speed and aggression. It's not too difficult to use either, so don't worry if you're not cracked out, just practice those slide cancels, and you'll be breaking cameras all over the shop with this puppy.
For a full rundown, check out this loadout guide to the Marco 5.
The Best Equipment For The EX1
Lethal | Throwing Knives |
Tactical | Stims |
Why fix what isn't broken? Throwing Knives can finish off the players you've downed and Stims can be used to make gas plays, reset mid-fight, and give yourself a speed boost. Perfect!Tired of the same old equipment? We bet you can't wait for Warzone 2, check out the new gameplay features it's launching with:
The Best Perks For The EX1
Perk 1 | Serpentine |
Perk 2 | Overkill / Tempered |
Perk 3 | Combat Scout |
Serpentine remains absolutely broken, so we'll take that, and Overkill is an obvious choice with two primaries, then to round us out we've gone with Combat Scout, so we can automatically tag & track for the squad. Once you've got both weapons, we advise going for Tempered as a great choice for a second Perk 2.
If you don't like how wild and futuristic this weapon is then why not take the more traditional, but still strong, KG M40.
