We are slowly working our way through all weapon classes in Black Ops Cold War to provide you with the best setups for each weapon. Today it's all about the fastest sniper in the game: the Pelington 703.
If you are looking for the best weapons in Black Ops Cold War, EarlyGame is the place to be. We test all weapons for you and provide you with the best setups for each one. You can see the most used weapons in BOCW in this short gallery:
After we have already dealt with several assault rifles, submachine guns, and tactical rifles, it is finally time to talk about the king of long distances - the sniper rifle.
Today we are going straight for the first sniper in the game, which will be unlocked at level 4. The Pelington 703 doesn't look very spectacular, and its damage doesn't seem overwhelming either - if you don't hit the target precisely, you'll often see only a hit marker instead of a kill. The special thing about this weapon is its speed, which makes it the perfect quick-scope sniper. Of course, the drawbacks can be improved with the right attachments.
If you have played a few matches in BOCW, chances are you've already been hit by a quick-scoper. So maybe you are wondering which weapon and which setup you need to do that? Here you can find just that!
Pelington 703 Setup
As usual, we only show you the top five attachments here, so players without the Gunfighter wildcard can also benefit from our setup. With these attachments, the Pelington outshines most other sniper rifles:
Quick aiming and in case of emergency replenishment, as well as compensation for less damage are our goals in this setup:
- Muzzle: Stabilizer .308
- Barrel: 26,5" Tiger Team
- Magazine: 7-shot
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Stock: Raider Pad
Let's start with the heart of the setup. The 26.5" Tiger Team barrel increases almost all the values we need - 14% faster reload, 13% higher fire rate, 50% more bullet velocity, and a whole 20% more damage. The muzzle makes the weapon wobble less when aiming, the larger magazine lets us take out more enemies in a row, or quickly shoot again if the first one misses. The handle increases our aiming speed and our resistance to twitching, so we can aim without any problems even under fire. The stock also increases our sprint to fire time, allowing us to aim a lot quicker.
If you like to sit and camp at the other end of the map, you should use a different setup, but if you like to be in the middle of the action as a sniper, you will have the perfect setup. Stay in motion and quick-scope. Hits on the head or upper body should be one-shots as a rule. If you see only one hit marker, don't worry, you can always add the next one quickly.
