Should I Buy CoD Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, or Halo Infinite?

Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, and Halo Infinite all look good, but which one should you buy? There's a lot to consider, and a lot to think about. Is Call of Duty: Vanguard worth it? Is Battlefield 2042 worth it? Is Halo Infinite worth it? Should you buy CoD: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, or Halo Infinite? Let's take a look...

Vanguard's taking us to World War 2... again, Battlefield 2042 is taking us into the future... Halo? Well, Halo's just Halo, what else is there to say? When November rolls around, we will be spoilt for choice, and it will be hard to know what to buy. Should you go for a new game... that has been done a million times, or something a bit different? Well, that's what we're here to discuss. Is Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, or Halo Infinite worth it? Let's dive in!

Well, we've found ourselves in a bit of a conundrum, haven't we? Well, to help you figure out whether you should buy Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, or Halo: Infinite, we've got a few articles for you...

Is Call of Duty: Vanguard Worth It?

If you're a CoD fanatic, love a World War 2 setting, and enjoyed Sledgehammer's last few games, Vanguard is for you. Call of Duty: Vanguard looks like a good game, with pretty strong bones. The campaign will be an interesting affair, with different characters taking us across different fronts of the war. It'll explore characters from history, and it's looking pretty good. We are getting one of the most expansive multiplayer modes, boasting about 20 maps at launch. Oh, and its Zombies mode is being developed by Treyarch, who made one of the best Zombies modes to date in Black Ops Cold War.

So, what are the negatives? Well, it's basically changing very little. It's classic Call of Duty, it'll be very similar to 2017's Call of Duty WW2, and it will be very similar to World at War. It's completely unoriginal, built on the work of countless other World War 2 games. It's also Call of Duty, so if you're not so into the fast-paced action of CoD, you should opt for Battlefield 2042. All this being said, the game looks top-quality, and will be a whole lot of fun!

Is Battlefield 2042 Worth It?

Battlefield 2042 will be the quintessential Battlefield game we have been waiting for since Battlefield 4. That is, if it turns out to be as good as it looks. We know, we know, we know, Battlefield 1 was epic as feck, but this takes us back to the more modern-warfare setting of Battlefield 3 and 4. What is exciting about that? Well, this game looks to have some insanely high-calibre action, some incredible graphics, jaw-dropping destruction, and some of the most inventive new game modes since the late 2010s.

What's wrong? Well, it's a Battlefield game, so if you're not the biggest fan of that, then you'll probably not enjoy Battlefield 2042. Other than that? Well, there doesn't seem to be much wrong with Battlefield 2042. It's looking super creative, inventive, intense, and fun. What else is there to ask for? Well, there is one thing...

Is Halo Infinite Worth It?

Halo Infinite looks to be the best Halo since Reach, if it meets expectation, and will absolutely be worth your time. The multiplayer is going to be free-to-play, the campaign will continue Chief's epic story, and more is coming further along the line. There's not much to really complain about here, after 343 went all the way back to the drawing board due to fan-criticism over the game's initial reveal. It's going to rock our world.

Is there anything wrong with Halo Infinite? Well, not everything is coming at launch. There won't be any Forge or Firefight (at least when the game launches), and that's a really big shame. On the flip side, the multiplayer is going to be free-to-play, so there's little to complain about there. All we would really say is that the game, like Vanguard, is not changing the formula in any big way. That being said, it could easily end up being one of the best games of the year.

Should I Buy CoD: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, or Halo Infinite?

CoD: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, and Halo Infinite are all worthy competitors, but we feel that Halo Infinite has the edge. With its jaw-dropping visuals, exciting new story, and classic gameplay, Halo Infinite may as well light the world on fire later this year. Thus, in our opinion, if you can only buy one of these games, then it should be Halo. Here's the order in which we believe you should purchase the games:

  1. Halo Infinite
  2. Battlefield 2042
  3. Call of Duty: Vanguard

Yep, that's right, Vanguard is just not that inventive. It also has two key disadvantages: everyone's bored of CoD, especially after Black Ops Cold War's tremendous disappointment, and it's being developed by a studio that has release good, but not brilliant games in the past. That's a tad of a problem, and puts it at the bottom of our list, with Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 far outweighing it in value. We might be wrong, though, only time will tell.
