Cheating in Twitch Rivals Warzone: Nickmercs Says Tournaments “Aren't Possible Anymore”

In light of recent cheating scandals in Warzone, a team has been banned from Twitch Rivals Warzone after allegations that METZY_B, kyrptic_j0ker, and Unifyz were cheating. Accusations directed to METZY_B have since been dropped, but the decision follows several high-profile influencers who blew the whistle on serious allegations of unnatural gameplay.

Warzone personality Tommey began receiving reports of mass cheating in the tournament after he noticed irregularities in Pacesetter's gameplay a few days ago. After blowing the whistle of Pacesetter's alleged cheating, Tommey started shouting out more players for clear use of cheating systems.

The $250,000 USD prize pool is up for grabs in Twitch Rivals Warzone, but it has become increasingly clear over the past days that the Warzone competitive in deep trouble. Dr Disrespect may have projected this a few weeks ago, when he said that the CoD competitive scene was in danger of dying if anti-cheating systems were not implemented, but it seems to have come sooner than expected.

Big players in the Call of Duty competitive space, including major outlets and influencers, have become very vocal about the problems arising from these recent allegations. Warzone leaker @ModernWarzone on Twitter, issued a statement to Activision, calling on them to "Do better".

The biggest profile name to speak out is FaZe clan's Nickmercs, who went as far as to say that tournaments “just aren't possible anymore” in Warzone. Seeing as there is $250,000 USD at stake, it is certainly a big problem that cheating is getting to be such an issue. However, we need to remember that allegations do not always get proven correct.

The winning team will be eligible for a $45,000 cash prize, a reward that METZY_B and his team will now be ineligible for, following their disqualification. In recent hours, Tommey has reached out on Twitter regarding allegations towards METZY_B and his team, rescinding and apologizing for certain accusations that have now been deemed inaccurate.

“Fully understand the hate I’m receiving and it’s deserved. There just wasn’t enough to go by to give my opinion on @METZY_B , from the stuff I saw I believed something was off but there just wasn’t enough to go as far as it did and to have everyone saying he cheated.”

It's important to note that all current known examples of cheating in Twitch Rivals Warzone are allegations, and not yet proven within reasonable doubt. We have reached out to METZY_B for comment and will be reporting on future developments as we receive them.

In situations such as these, it is very easy to jump to conclusions regarding innocence and guilt. Whilst many of the allegations we've seen could be truthful, many could not. The level of hate and abuse that has been directed at those accused over the last 24 hours has been astounding, and not akin to the positive gaming community we should all be aiming for in Warzone.
