Clans are being introduced in Call of Duty: Vanguard, providing a whole new social aspect to this year's CoD. What are Clans in Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Coming into the game, Vanguard Clans is a tier-one feature that allows you to pair up with your friends. It creates a whole new social-play environment that, according to Sledgehammer Games, will take socializing via Call of Duty to a whole new level.

Clans consist of a range of new social features for players to utilize, with total cross-gen and cross-platform support. In other words, gamers can play with their friends no matter what platform, or which generation they or their friends are playing on. Haven't been able to secure a PS5, but your friend has? No problem! Jump into Vanguard on your PS4 and you'll be able to play with your PS5 friend (or Xbox friend, or PC for that matter).

There will be twenty maps dropping with Call of Duty: Vanguard, and we will see the return of notable features like Tactical Sprint and Gunsmith. Create-A-Class is also a new feature, allowing players to choose a Primary, Secondary, Tactical, Perk, and Lethal. It is kind of similar to Modern Warfare 2019, but there will be no Wildcards. The Gunsmith will support up-to ten attachments.

  • Take control points in modes like Patrol with your clan
  • Progress with your clan, so no one is left behind
  • Clans are available cross-gen and cross-platform

Operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard's Clan System

Vanguard's Clan System will utilize all twelve at-launch Operators, each of whom have their own backstory. 2021's CoD game looks to be the most diverse yet, despite its World War 2 setting, with the developers looking to explore characters who are based on real-life people who participated in the world. Yes, that includes women. Yes, women were involved in WW2. No, Sledgehammer Games are not going "woke". Please don't use that tired and tedious argument.

Anyway, each Operator will have their own progression system, and can be upgraded to acquire finishing moves and cosmetic items. They also have varying playstyles. They have designed them this way to compliment the Vanguard Clan System, so that players can work together and utilize different abilities to form a strong and cohesive team. Honestly, this game just seems to be getting better and better...
