According to new rumors, the working title of the upcoming CoD 2021, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, is "Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard". Thus, CoD 2021's setting is probably also confirmed.
Like every year, we have been wondering what the next Call of Duty game will bring. There have already been numerous rumors about CoD 2021, but now, our all-time favorite CoD leaker, ModernWarzone, has announced the working title for CoD 2021 via Twitter...

What is the Setting of Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard?
According to ModernWarzone, the preliminary working title of the upcoming Call of Duty installment is Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard, which hints at a World War 2 setting.Until now, it was not clear which setting the next Call of Duty will boast, with speculation ranging from World War 2, to the Korean War, to a futuristic Advanced Warfare successor. In the past, leaker Victor_Z had already announced a WW2 setting:

If the current working title is correct, it would confirm that CoD 2021 will have a WW2 setting. However, there have also been leaks that suggest that CoD 2021 will be set in the 1950s:
Call of Duty 2021 will reportedly be set in the 1950s.The Korean War started in 1950 so good chance it will be based around that. (Source: @ModernWarzone) pic.twitter.com/A4HJZNpuDH

Thus, it could be possible that Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard will combine World War 2 and the Korean War. Another theory would be that a fictional timeline is being developed where WW2 doesn't end in 1945... sounds exciting either way!
Who Is Developing Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard?
Sledgehammer Games is currently working on the upcoming Call of Duty WW2: Vanguard. According to some rumors, Sledgehammer Games was supposed to release their new CoD in 2020, but couldn't deliver in time for various reasons, so Treyarch stepped in and released Black Ops Cold War.
Sledgehammer Games were also the developers of Call of Duty: WWII and Advanced Warfare, so the World War II setting shouldn't be too much of a surprise.
Is CoD Coming to Warzone in 2021?
Yes! Every CoD title in at least the next 5 years is expected to have an impact on Warzone. In all likelihood, this means at least one new map for the Battle Royale, as well as numerous weapons and cosmetics.
As always, however, these are leaks and rumors. Other than the choice of developers, nothing is set in stone.
