Call of Duty: Vanguard's alpha playtesting build has just been added to the PlayStation store database. That confirms it's coming soon, and needless to say, we're hyped. Details below.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is really starting to grab some headlines and wrestle back attention from Battlefield 2042. The Warzone reveal had a lot of people excited, but now we're looking for the next hit - the alpha playtesting. It's just been added to the PlayStation Store, and we keep seeing it alongside the name 'Champion Hill'.
Champion Hill was an American Civil War battle, not a WWII battle, so that part remains a complete mystery, but keep reading for the other deets!

Call of Duty: Vanguard's Alpha
The Call of Duty: Vanguard alpha has been added to the PlayStation store database, which confirms that it really is only a few weeks away. One of the most reliable leakers with access to the PlayStation store database shared this:
Call of Duty(r): Vanguard Alpha (PS5) Download Size : 20.376 GB (01.001.000) #CallofDutyVanguard #Vanguard pic.twitter.com/ckxT5VQC0d
— PlayStation Game Size (@PlaystationSize) August 19, 2021
At only 20GB, we can reasonably assume that there will be no campaign or zombies in the alpha, and instead just one or two multiplayer maps with a couple of game modes available to play. This is standard procedure for Call of Duty playtesting.
The same account confirmed in the comments that the alpha build was available in all regions, so at least we know the alpha isn't exclusive to North America.
Is Call of Duty: Vanguard's Alpha A PlayStation Exclusive?
Yes, unfortunately, the Call of Duty: Vanguard alpha is a PlayStation exclusive. So don't believe any leaks that claim the alpha build has been discovered on the Steam database or the Xbox store.
Call of Duty has an ongoing partnership with PlayStation, so there's nothing surprising or suspicious about this news.
