Demyansk is a bitingly cold and fantastic little map set in the Eastern European winter. Here is our map guide, including a few tips and tricks to get you started...
Demyansk is a medium-sized multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard multiplayer modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Set in a snowy village on the Lovat River, Demyansk centers around a beautiful Russian Orthodox Church, and is by far one of the best Multiplayer Maps in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Check out Demyansk's map description:
At this small church and village on the Lovat River, Allied Forces spread out to ambush the Axis before they can successfully retreat with supplies and equipment. This small-sized map has a river dividing combat between the western Church and eastern Lumberyard.
This particular map is a gorgeous and insanely fun mission to run around in Call of Duty: Vanguard. There is just so much to love here, from the beautiful church that introduces some fantastic verticality from its roof, to the river-side ice that's perfect for Domination. It is one of our favorite maps in Vanguard, and is full of great spots to check out and take advantage of. Here is our Demyansk Map Guide!
Vanguard Demyansk Map Guide: The Map
Demyansk is a medium-sized map in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and centers around the focal point of a gorgeous Russian Orthodox Church. Along the banks of the river, we fight in more open, ranged combat, and it is absolutely perfect for Domination and Patrol. There are tons of fantastic spots, including the roof of the church, and a tremendous amount of variety imposed by the juxtaposition between intense indoor encounters and those wider outdoor areas. Visually, the map feels frigidly cold, and has a certain moodiness that makes it possibly the most beautiful map in Vanguard. It's an absolute joy. Check out the Demyansk Mini-Map:
Vanguard Demyansk Map Guide: Gameplay Overview & Tactics
Demyansk combines both open-air long-ranged combat with the intense encounters found within, particularly the Russian Orthodox Church that acts as the centerpiece of this map. The church is gorgeous, but the whole thing is also just made all the better by the gorgeous snow and ice that is scattered around the map itself, as well as the log cabins and ruined vehicles that provide cover.
Go for a bit of a more long-ranged loadout, and preference weapons like DMRs, Snipers, and Assault Rifles when choosing your primary. We would, however, recommend that you keep something on you for close quarters, and perhaps some frag grenades for combat in those intense indoor portions of the map. When outside, keep vigilant and low, especially when on the right-hand side of the map, near the river. These wide-open spaces can yield some great combat moments, but also some very quick deaths at the hands of snipers.

Demyansk is an intensely asymmetrical map and can suffer a little from a lack of direction, nor any real "side" to the conflict. In the case that this bothers you, we recommend choosing objective-based modes and just getting to know the map a bit yourself in private matches before you dive into it in multiplayer. It's a lot of fun, and will grow on you, but it could take some time.
