Dome is a tiny little multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5, and is a remake of another absolute classic from 2008's World at War. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard multiplayer modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Set in the destroyed ruins of the Reichstag Building in Berlin, Dome is great for intense firefights that revolve around the rubble of a destroyed central structure.

For such a tiny map, Dome does an amazing job at introducing a very reasonable amount of verticality. From the balustrades on both sides of the map, to the different levels featured in the outside section, there is a ton to love here. Be careful here, though, because Dome can be especially difficult when playing on higher Combat Pacing settings. The context is that Allied Forces are storming the Reichstag, engaging in tight-knit and intense battles within this small-sized asymmetrical arena. Here is our Dome Map Guide!

Vanguard Dome Map Guide: The Map

Dome features just the right amount of variation for what is, in practice, a very small and intense map. There is a reasonable amount of verticality, and there's a little bit of close-quarters hidey space in the side areas, but most of the combat takes place battling over the central area of the Reichstag's interior. It's a pretty special little map, and very nostalgic for World at War players, so ideal for certain game modes like Team Deathmatch. Check out the Dome minimap:

Vanguard Dome Map Guide: Gameplay Overview & Tactics

For a map this small, Dome has a very reasonable amount of versatility at hand. Make sure to bring a reasonable arsenal of weapons, focusing mostly on weapons which are ideal in close-to-medium ranged combat. That means Assault Rifles, Sub-Machine Guns, Shotguns, and the likes. Bring plenty of lethals, things like Molotov Cocktails are especially helpful, and make sure that you are well-equipped for speed. Maximize your setups to keep you moving fast and efficiently, or you're not going to have a good time on Dome.

It is clear from the video below that we are pretty smitten with Dome (well, at least Jon is, I am not so much), with lots of love for those balconies on either side of the main central area. These two sections allow for a decent amount of verticality within the Reichstag itself. Additionally, the little scaffolding in the outside area also provides verticality for that section. If you want to use these areas to the best of your advantage, you could even think about bringing a Sniper or a DMR with you.

Dome is a pretty big deal, but it's also a pretty small deal. It's a miniature, remade map, and is the definition of fun. Get ready for intense close-quarters firefights, and get ready for some pretty insane fast-paced gameplay. Be careful of that central area, as you are very likely to be shot on sight. Keep in mind that there will be players on the balcony, and keep in mind that those players will try to hold their power positions. Make sure to flush them out!
