Eagle's Nest is a medium sized multiplayer map that released with Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard multiplayer modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing's. Set on the top of a tall mountain that surveys the valleys surrounding it, Eagle's Nest is a real sight to behold. The problem, though, is that most firefights occur indoors, where the stunning scenery is barely noticeable. Here's the map description:

A prominent Axis meeting house built 1,834 meters above sea level, Kehlsteinhaus is a small, three-lane-like map, this was featured in the Vanguard Beta.

This meeting house is full of destructible materials, and a lot of fun to jump-on into. There are few things more enjoyable than those outside sections of Vanguard's Eagle's Nest map, though we do think that there are a couple of areas that present us with a few pretty significant weaknesses in map design. Here is our Eagle's Nest Map Guide!

Vanguard Eagle's Nest Map Guide: The Map

Call of Duty: Vanguard's Eagle's Nest Map consists of a central building that functions as a meeting house for head Nazi Generals. Set in what we assume to be the Alps, the house is flanked by two narrow walkways that each sit beside giant drops down the side of the mountain, providing stunning vistas, and terrifying drops. The two spawn areas act as little bland areas on each side of the map, with most combat taking place within the building on the two previously mentioned walkways. Check out the Eagle's Nest minimap:

Vanguard Eagle's Nest Map Guide: Gameplay Overview & Tactics

One of the Beta Maps, Eagle's Nest, plays very well as a classic small three-laner map, especially on more aggressive game modes. It's a rather conventional Call of Duty map, but stands out due to the setting itself, which is a stunning mountain top in what we can only assume to be the Alps. Eagle's Nest will also offer some pretty tense moments in round-based or limited respawn modes and events.

The big shame of Eagle's Nest is that, despite its stunning location, most combat takes place indoors. All we really get is a sliver of mountain, with players running around the (albeit stunning) interior of this corridor-like building. It's a bit of a missed opportunity visually, but Eagle's Nest does play and flow extremely well as a Call of Duty map. This particular map also suffers a little from that very traditional CoD map design where you have your "Spawn Area", the main area (the house itself), and then the two side lanes that flank it. It's all rather boring and predictable, but is a tried and tested formula to produce a very high-quality multiplayer experience.

Eagle's Nest requires a bit more of an assault-style class setup. Opt for a loadout that features an Assault Rifle or an SMG, as well as something with a bit more oomph for the indoor areas. Lethals are also great to optimize the destruction you wreak within the building's walls, and you should make sure to utilize that internal destruction to your advantage throughout matches. Be careful on the side walkways as they can become a bit of a death trap when flanked by opponents.
