Since Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 1 launched, along with its integration with Black Ops Cold War, all eyes have been on the DMR 14. Fans of the CoD spin-off were upset about the tactical rifle’s over-powered nonsense. Treyarch and Raven Software have since responded. So, all is well again, right? Not really. Fans are disappointed with the nerf, so let’s see what they have to say about the controversy!
Warzone is now in full swing with Season 1, and Black Ops Cold War’s integration. The new season brought some promising new features and additional content, like the new Rebirth Island. But it was all overshadowed by an annoying controversy: the DMR 14 tactical rifle. This was finally nerfed after many complaints, and... the fans are still pissed! See some reactions to the DMR 14 nerf, and why it’s still a problem.
The DMR 14 in Warzone has finally been nerfed by Treyarch and Raven Software, as you can see here. However, we have already identified the main problem in this more detailed article:
The DMR 14 nerf seems to have only addressed headshot damage and recoil, which is not bad at all. But it’s apparently not enough: fans of Warzone are now complaining that the nerf isn’t enough and that the weapon is still OP.
See a tweet from @charlieINTEL here, addressing the weak DMR 14 nerf.
First impressions of the weapon changes seems to be that the nerf of the DMR....wasn't enough?

The replies to this tweet are full of disappointed and annoying fans who still think the tactical rifle is way too strong. This is understandable: while the reduced headshot damage helps somewhat, it’s far from the biggest problem. As you can see in videos like this one by @Rob2daP, the weapon is still devastating.
It was NOT! Here is a brief snapshot of it. Didn't get a good one at long range, but recoil is fine and damage is still dominant.... pic.twitter.com/ENJhKTuPMU

Meanwhile, this controversy has really drawn a lot of attention. As @ModernWarzone points out, several prominent voices have now asked for a more powerful DMR 14 nerf. In addition to Lil Uzi Vert and several athletes, now the voice actor for Ghost from the Modern Warfare series!
Now a UFC fighter, @LILUZIVERT, and Ghost himself @jeffleach have all asked for nerfs to the DMR
