What Causes Dev Error 841 In MW3?
Dev Error 841 seems to be a simple in-game crash and is not related to your account or the servers, so luckily it is very easy to fix. They haven't mentioned this bug yet on their official channel for emergency issues, and so you shouldn't get your hope up for a patch that will stop this issue coming back, but you can at least resolve it now.
We recently had Dev Error 841 ourselves and we were able to resolve the problem with our own solution.
How To Fix Error Code Dev Error 841 In Modern Warfare 3
As with all basic crash errors in CoD, we can effectively just restart the game, and that should resolve the problem. Just follow these steps:
- Close Call of Duty completely:
- PC: Right-click on "Call of Duty" from the taskbar and select "Close" from the menu.
- Xbox: Press the Xbox button in the center of your screen. Highlight "Call of Duty" from the mini-guide on the left. Press the Menu button and then select quit from the menu.
- PlayStation: Press the PS button in the center of the controller. Select the "Switcher" (second option from the left on the hotbar). Highlight "Call of Duty". Press the Start button to bring up a dropdown menu and select "Close Game".
- Re-open Call of Duty.
