Warzone Season 4: New Gulag

As part of the Warzone Season 4 Roadmap, Activision Blizzard just announced a new Gulag map coming to Warzone. It's a plywood reconstruction of an area on the top deck of the Black Ops 2 map Hijacked. We've got all the details below.

One of a great many things fans loathed about the Cold War takeover of Warzone, was the introduction of a new Gulag. It had none of the atmosphere of the original Gulag map, and it promoted passive play. Fortunately, the current map is being ditched, in favor of a more minimal and hopefully more aggressive alternative in Season 4. It'll be familiar to any of you who know Black Op 2's map Hijacked.

When Is The New Gulag Map Coming To Warzone?

The new Gulag map is coming at the launch of Warzone Season 4 - so Thursday, June 17, 00:00 ET (05:00 BST, 06:00 CEST). Only a few more days to 'enjoy' Standoff, the current Gulag.

What Is The New Gulag Map In Warzone Season 4?

The new Gulag map in Warzone Season 4 is based on a part of the upper deck from the map Hijacked. You will start either in a hot tub, or directly opposite in a bar. There is a central structure that stands between both spawns, but besides that, the map is very small and very bare - as Gulags should be. Here is a picture of the area the new Gulag is adapted from:

This is the map structure of the new Gulag, so the play is going to be an aggressive push down centre or a flank - thank goodness camping Gulags should be a thing of the past.
