A controversial tweet against the LGBT community has led to the removal of the NICKMERCS' Operator Skin from Call of Duty. A few days later, TimTheTatman's Operator Skin has also been removed. Here is everything you need to know!
In a shocking turn of events, popular streamer NICKMERCS has found himself at the center of controversy as a result of a tweet that appeared to be anti-LGBT. The tweet in question was a response to a video showing anti-LGBT protestors attacking pro-LGBT demonstrators outside a school. NICKMERCS' response: “They should leave little children alone. That's the real issue.”

The tweet immediately gained attention on social media, leaving many shocked and in disbelief by its implications.
They should leave little children alone. That's the real issue.

my guy, you're literally watching a video of straight cis people physically attacking LGBTQ people and saying that LGBTQ people are the issue?
Or
ew gross a homophobe
The statement seemed to imply that NICKMERCS believed the school was engaging in sexual grooming by teaching children about LGBT issues, causing a heated debate among Twitter users.

Warzone 2: NICKMERCS Operator Skin Gets Removed As A Consequence
In response to the controversy, the devs of Call of Duty made the decision to remove NICKMERCS' Operator Skin from the game. They not only removed the skin, but also deleted the associated trailer and the CoD blog post about his Operator skin. The announcement of this action was shared on Twitter, further fueling the ongoing conversation.

Interestingly, the response from the Call of Duty community has been mixed. While some supported the decision to remove the Operator Skin due to the perceived anti-LGBT sentiment expressed in the tweet, others vehemently disagreed.
Many players shared their frustration with the removal over Twitter, asserting that NICKMERCS' comments were taken out of context and that he was only highlighting the importance of protecting children.
So COD wants elementary school students to learn about fucking and if a parent happens to be gamer affiliated with you who disagrees you insult and distance yourself from him?
Or
So are you staying you support the sexual grooming of children then? Because that's what he was talking about, it was clear from the context he didn't have a problem with pride per se.
The controversy surrounding NICKMERCS' tweet highlights the complex issues surrounding freedom of expression, responsibility, and the role of influencers in today's society. It also serves as a reminder of the significant influence that gaming personalities can wield and the impact their words can have on their fanbase and beyond.
TimTheTatman's Operator Skin Also Removed
In response to the ongoing debate about the removal of NICKMERCS' operator skin, fellow streamer TimTheTatman asked Activision to remove his operator skin as well.
.@NICKMERCS has been my friend for years- we went in getting our CoD operators together. It feels wrong for me to have mine and him no longer have his. In support of my friend, please remove the timthetatman bundle@CallofDuty

He says he has been friends with NICKMERCS forever and after talking to him, he is convinced that “he didn't mean to hurt anyone with what he said.” NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman got their CoD skins together, and now Tim calls on Activision to remove his skin as well in support of his friend.
A few hours after his request, TimTheTatman's Operator Skin was officially removed by Call of Duty. From now on, there will probably be no more Content Creator Skins in Call of Duty. How sad!
