The midseason update to Warzone is just around the corner - Warzone Season 4 Reloaded. It's going to bring new modes, new operators, and more, and what's caught our eye: Warzone's new gun, the OTS 9 SMG. Better known to many of you as the Skorpion. If you haven't heard of it, we've got all the details below.

Remember way back in 2007 when we were still playing CoD: 4? It feels like a lifetime ago, so it's always nice to see the weapons and maps of that era make comebacks. The Skorpion was a 20–round close-range SMG from that game. High damage, but unforgiving. And it's coming back as the OTS 9, an SMG for Warzone and BOCW.

What Will The OTS 9 SMG Be Like?

The OTS 9 was limited to a 20–round magazine in CoD: 4, but that can't possibly be the case in Warzone otherwise it will get zero play. If they're kind enough to give it even 45 rounds, then we might have something interesting on our hands, but it's always an uphill struggle for SMGs to be relevant in Warzone, where range is so key.

We can only say so much for now, but expect more Season 4 Reloaded leaks to drop this weekend.

When Is The OTS 9 SMG Released?

The OTS 9 will be released with Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, on Thursday, July 15 at 00:00 ET (05:00 BST, 06:00 CEST). The pre-download should go live on Tuesday, July 13, but we don't have an exact time for that yet.

What else can we expect from Season 4 Reloaded? Well, besides this SMG, we know we're getting a new mode, and a couple of new operators. A lot of players will be keeping their eyes peeled for balance changes, rather than content, though. What they do with the weapon balance is hard to judge. The FARA might get another slight nerf to its effectiveness over range (probably in the form of increased recoil and reduced damage multipliers), but that's the only weapon that's really sticking its head above the 'balance' parapet. It would be a good time to implement another experimental buff for one of the struggling weapons, but we'll have to wait and see.
