Just moments ago, a well–known Call of Duty leaker claimed that theMW2 map 'Terminal' was going to be remastered for CoD: Vanguard. That's this year's Call of Duty, and we know it's set during WWII - so the news of Terminal's return sounds bizarre. Details below.
Terminal is a beloved map, perhaps one of the most fondly remembered from the golden–era of MW2. And so a Terminal remaster is always going to get fans excited. But Terminal in World War 2? How does that even work? And, why would they choose this game of all games to bring it back? Honestly, those questions are still rattling around in my head too, but this comes from a very reliable source, as far as Call of Duty leakers go.
Terminal Remaster For CoD: Vanguard
Let's get into exactly what was said. A few days ago @TheMW2Ghost, a Call of Duty leaker, shared news on Twitter that London Docks and another better–known map were coming back:
Just some small bits to share I've been told that the map 'London Docks' from WW2 is apparently coming to Vanguard as season dlc (1 or 2 I think)As well as a WW2 version of a very fan-favourite map from a very iconic cod game.... can't share what that map is just yet though

London Docks making a return would not be surprising in the least, it was considered the best map from the last Sledgehammer Game also set in WWII. Obviously, we were more interested in what the other map would be. A few days later another leaker gave us the answer:
Terminal is going to be in COD 2021 / COD Vanguard according to @TheMW2Ghost pic.twitter.com/wWchaTD5Y5

And now we're left scratching our heads. Seriously? Why Terminal for a WWII game?
Like keeping up to speed with all things Season 4? So do we, here's a few of the new additions in case you missed anything:
- Warzone Season 4: Uplink Stations Are Easy & Offer Crazy Loot
- Warzone Season 4: New Gulag
- Warzone Season 4: "Days of Summer" Event Leaked
Can We Trust This Vanguard / Terminal Leak?
ModernWarzone and TheMW2Ghost have both proven they have reliable information in the past with their leaks. They have also been wrong on occasion, as when recently they seemed to agree that a new Operator called Komodo would be coming, but Komodo never did. That being said, as mental as this seems at first glance, it could actually be achieved quite easily - and we know how much they love to release fan–favorite remakes these days.
Some of the first international airports were built by the 40s and heavy bombers of the period were just about large enough to replace the commercial planes on Terminal. The color palette would be very different, though, and the tone would be more military. So as we said, it is possible, but it would be a stretch.
