Vanguard Weapon Setup Guides - Type 99

If the new Kar just isn't doing it for you then maybe you want to take the Type 99 for a spin. Here's the best loadout setup guide for the Type 99.

Call of Duty: Vanguardhas launched with a ton of classic WWII guns, but for every gun, we have an astonishing amount of attachments to choose from. Seriously, Vanguard offers ten attachments slots per weapon! Where do you even begin? This is madness! Don't worry, we've got all the answers in our Vanguard weapon setup guides, And today: the Type 99.

The Type 99 probably won't have Warzone potential; there's just very little reason not to use the new Kar based on our current findings. That said the Type 99 is a great little rifle for multiplayer, and you can make it mobile enough to compete.

Check out our tier ranking of every weapon in Vanguard for an idea of how well the Type 99 places. In the meantime, let's talk setup...

The Type 99 Attachment Setup

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
  • Barrel: Shiraishi Short
  • Optic: Type 97 5x Telescopic
  • Stock: Removed Stock
  • Underbarrel: Heavy Foregrip
  • Magazine: 8mm Klauser 5 Round
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Vital
  • Kit: Deep Breath

This is a very conventional sniper build. We're looking to improve aim-down-sight time and bullet velocity above everything else. This makes us faster than the competition, more able to hit moving targets. The optic we've gone for is our favourite but with sniper optics it's going to be very much user-dependent, so sub it out for what feels most comfortable.

Note: We think the Vital proficiency (which basically makes headshots easier) might be nerfed or reworked due to community complaints. If it is then we will, of course, update this setup guide.

If you're looking for the market leader, maybe the new Kar is what you need?

The Equipment & Perks On An Type 99 Loadout

From what we've played so far, the meta loadout will look something like this:

  • Secondary Weapon: Machine Pistol
  • Lethal: Thermite
  • Tactical: Stuns
  • Perk 1: Ghost
  • Perk 2: Radar
  • Perk 3: Demolition
  • Field Upgrade: Armor Plates

The above will almost certainly be the multiplayer meta for a Type 99 loadout unless they make serious balance changes. The Armor Plates in particular are in need of a nerf, but whether one comes... we'll have to wait and see.
