Call of Duty: Vanguard's Packet Burst Error centers around issues with the game's new on-demand texture streaming feature. Here's how to fix it!
With Call of Duty: Vanguard only bursting into our lives recently, it's only natural for the game to go through a few growing pains. Many of these will manifest themselves as bugs, errors, and server problems. In the case of Vanguard's Packet Burst error, it's a combination of the latter two factors that make up the bulk of this particular issue. More specifically, though, it's an issue with the game's brilliant new on-demand texture streaming service.
Now, this is to be expected: Call of Duty: Vanguard is a brand new game, and on-demand texture streaming is a brand new technology. Thus, we by no means would criticize Sledgehammer Games for the Vanguard Packet Burst Error, but we will suggest a few ways that you can mitigate the issue before they get around to fixing it. After all, there's nothing more set to kill your joy than attempting to launch yourself into Vanguard's fantastic new multiplayer mode and instead receiving an error code. Seriously, "Packet Burst", bugger off already!

Fixing Vanguard Packet Burst
The widespread Packet Burst problem in Call of Duty: Vanguard is primarily caused by issues with the game's new on-demand texture streaming service, but can also be caused by various connection issues. Here are a number of tips to help you get back on your feet!
Turn Off On-Demand Texture Streaming
Head on over to the settings menu either from the homepage or from an individual, or in-game menu (in, say, Zombies or Multiplayer). From here, you want to jump into the Graphics section of the menu and scroll down to on-demand texture streaming. Switch it off, reboot your game from scratch, and check to see if this has resolved the Packet Burst error code in Call of Duty: Vanguard.
If turning off on-demand texture streaming has not fixed the Vanguard Packet Burst error for you, then it could potentially be an issue with your internet connection. We have a few more tips to help you resolve the problem if this is the case.
Restart Your Internet Router/Modem
When restarting your modem, you need to make sure that it is not simply a soft reset. In other words, you need to get down-and-dirty: pull out the plug, wait a few minutes, and shove it back in! Once you have done this, you'll need to wait about five minutes until your connection is back up and running at full speed.
Factory Reset Your Internet Router/Modem
Most modems feature a factory reset option, and it's always very easy to activate it. Now, this will not reset the password or anything like that, and on the off-chance that it does, it will just reset it to the default password that is listed on the router itself. To complete this step, shove a pen into the small hole in the back of the router. It should be labeled, and pretty obvious!
Use a Wired Ethernet Connection Rather Than Wi-Fi
If you're using Wi-Fi, you'll get a significantly lower-quality connection than if you used its wired counterpart. Just simply run an Ethernet cable from your modem/router to your console or PC, and plug that bad-boy in. This will significantly improve your connection instantly.
