3 Reasons Why You Need To Stop Using Overkill

"Overkill or Ghost?" – one of the most important questions you'll hear in Warzone as you pace toward the loadout, shoulder to shoulder with your squadmates. We want to make the case that, for most of you, most of the time, your answer should be: Ghost. Here are three reasons why.

The received wisdom suggests you take Overkill on each initial loadout for a sniper/support play, even for those fighting over a free loadout with the other chumps who couldn't loot 10k early doors. But where did this idea come from? And, why is it so pervasive? Why the pros and streamers, of course, the guys whose play you surely want to emulate? Or do you. Those players can shred two, three, four-man stacks without breaking a sweat. If they show up on heartbeat, who cares, it's just more lambs to slaughter. But if you can't make those plays then here are three reasons why maybe you should stick to Ghost in your second perk slot instead.

3) The Ground Loot Is Fantastic This Season

This season in particular has strong ground loot, but even on more ordinary seasons, there are plenty of options among the crates. The one exception might be snipers, but this could be your Ghost class's primary weapon. Finding a support weapon to run alongside a sniper should be easy. And as we say, this season especially has seen some super strong weapons in the crates, including a well spec'd Krig, C58's, and a bunch of the now–insanely–buffed Milano.

Like keeping up to speed with all things Season 4? So do we, here's a few of the new additions in case you missed anything:

2) You Don't Need To Fight For The Second Loadout

If you open up with Overkill then you need to fight for the second loadout to make sure you don't show up on Heartbeat in the final few circles. By choosing Ghost straight away you can keep the cash for other things and leave the free crates to those who need to fight for another loadout. And less unnecessary fights almost always results in a greater chance of success.

1) Most Players Will Gain More From Stealth

The advantage that two custom weapons will give the vast majority of players is less than they gain from the stealth advantage. Showing up on radar or Heartbeat is hugely disadvantageous, and unless you can fight like the pros and win fights that are stacked against you, we suggest you take Ghost to avoid the situation. Of course, there are players, probably some reading this even, who are good enough to come out on top in those disadvantageous situations, but let's be honest - that's probably a small minority of players.
