The Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update is finally here (with only two weeks left of the season). In these patch notes, we've got a ton of weapon balancing changes and a clear focus on the Iron Trials.
Okay, you're busy people and the patch notes aren't short. The attention of this update was on more competitive play, so if you chase the meta keep reading. Here are the four big takeaways:
- The barrels which negate some of the CWAK's recoil have been nerfed, making this weapon just as damaging but requiring slightly higher skill to use. The opposite has happened to the Krig - the Krig's barrels will now deal with recoil slightly better, but again, there were no direct damage changes.
- The Bullfrog has had its mobility and ADS nerfed - in this case, they probably want to make the weapon appear less attractive without actually harming it too much. It's not overpowered, it's just easy to use and therefore wildly popular.
- The Gallo's damage profiles have had their range restricted - so 'short range' (maximum damage) is now only within 3.5m and not 4.5m, and so on with it's mid-range and long-range damage profiles. This nerf will keep the Gallo strong but less versatile.
- They're experimenting with slightly altered rules for Iron Trials, which remains a playlist. The big takeaway here isn't the rule changes themselves, but the fact that so much attention is being placed on this 'limited-time mode'. We might soon discover that the Iron Trials are becoming a recurring or permanent playlist.
