A new LMG was added to Warzone in a surprise update last night – the RAAL. The RAAL has actually been teased before, back in December, but now we can unlock it for MW and Warzone. So here's the best attachment setup and loadout for the RAAL.

The RAAL is finally in Warzone. It was teased via ground-loot alongside the CX-9 back in December, but now (much like the CX-9) it's been introduced into the BR and is fully unlockable in Modern Warfare. If you don't know how to unlock the RAAL then before you read this article, quickly check out our unlock guide.

The RAAL LMG is terribly slow to ADS and to reload, and there's nothing the attachments can do to change that fact - you've just got to accept that this weapon is slow. The key to effectively using a slow LMG is to be patient. You're already dealing with an open-bolt delay with the RAAL, so it's going to be very hard to get shots on to your target first if you see each other simultaneously. Instead, slow down and let them walk into your path, with this crucial headstart, the RAAL can open up. And when you do start firing, it has great recoil control and a good damage profile, so you should win most engagements.

Warzone RAAL Setup

  • Muzzle: RAAL Monocore
  • Barrel: 32" RAAL Line Breaker
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Unterbarrel: FFS Oblique

There are lots of strangely named attachments that are unique to the RAAL here - don't worry, they've basically just renamed the attachments we know and love, but this is every bit the conventional MW LMG build. In fact, it's almost identical to the meta PKM setup.

The RAAL is very slow to ADS and reload, so slow in fact that we aren't going to try and fight that, we're going to work with what it's good at instead. So we'll be increasing range and recoil control with the barrel, suppressor, and snatch grip.

The VLK has the cleanest reticle of all the available optics at that zoom strength, but sub it out for another if you prefer.

Like keeping up to speed with all things Call of Duty? Then you've come to the right place, here are some of our recent articles:

Secondary, Perks, And Equipment In A RAAL Loadout

  • Secondary: MAC-10
  • Perk 1: Cold-Blooded
  • Perk 2: Overkill
  • Perk 3: Combat Recon
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Stuns

With the RAAL being far too sluggish to be used in close-quarters, we'll take a MAC-10 for when we push. And with the MAC being so dominant when things get up close and personal, we'll forgo the traditional Heartbeat Sensor in favor of the more aggressive option – stuns.

Where you would normally take E.O.D. in the first slot, we've opted for Cold-Blooded to counter the new perk – Combat Recon. We'll be taking Combat Recon ourselves while it's so strong. The Semtex grenades are a solid option but feel free to swap these out for the lethal you're most confident with.
