What is Call of Duty 2022?
Call of Duty 2022 will be Infinity Ward's next entry in the franchise, bringing the game back to its Modern Warfare roots, according to prolific CoD leaker Tom Henderson. We can expect that Call of Duty 2022 will be called Modern Warfare 2, or Modern Warfare II, due to the tremendous success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019. It was one of the best-selling Call of Duty games to date, and we doubt that Infinity War would walk away from this cash cow.
Let's be real, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 was one of the most successful, and one of the best Call of Duty games ever. The game had an incredible campaign, and its Multiplayer has more active players than Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to this day. If Call of Duty 2022 does indeed turn out to be Modern Warfare 2 (which, to be honest, we can be pretty sure of) we'll certainly not be complaining...
It looks like Call of Duty: 2022 is codenamed Project CortezIt's expected to be a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019.

What is Call of Duty: 2022's Code Name?
Call of Duty 2022 is currently codenamed Project Cortez, according to leaks released by Tom Henderson on Twitter. The codename never really matters too much, though, with video games often going through many title iterations before they eventually get a copyrighted and publicly release name. Project Cortez will most certainly not be what the game is called, but we also have to admit that it's a pretty badass codename...
When is the Call of Duty: 2022 Release Date?
Call of Duty games generally release in late October or early-mid November, and thus we can expect it in October or November of 2022. That being said, we have no official confirmation or talk about Call of Duty 2022. This is understandable, as Call of Duty: Vanguard is yet to be released, and Activision's focus is obviously on this year's title. That doesn't mean we can't be excited for next year, though. It's shaping up to be bloody good!
