It was announced yesterday evening when the playoffs and the big Championship Weekend of the Call of Duty League's 2020 season will take place. The season is fast approaching its conclusion and we now know exactly when that coclusion is going to come and what the format will be.

The playoffs will start on Wednesday, August 19, and will continue until Sunday, August 23. The top four teams will then move on to the Championship Weekend, which will take place on August 29-30. Like all matches this year, the championship deciders will be played online and broadcasted on the Call of Duty League's own YouTube channel.
Structure
In the playoffs, all teams will be divided into a Winners' bracket and an Elimination bracket according to their current ranking in the Call of Duty League. Top 8 teams go into the Winners, bottom 4 into the Elimination Bracket.Here you can see the structure of the playoffs and the Championship Weekend:
Teams that lose in the Winner's Bracket are moved to the Elimination Bracket. Whoever loses here will be eliminated.
Format
Tne number of maps and modes played have also been revealed. All playoff games will be in a set Bo5 format featuring the following setup:
- Map 1 - Hardpoint
- Map 2 - Search and Destroy
- Map 3 - Domination
- Map 4 - Hardpoint
- Map 5 - Search and Destroy
The final will be played in a Bo9 with the team coming from the Winners bracket taking a default 1-0 advantage into the game. This means we can have a total of eight maps played, which would be:
- Map 1 - Hardpoint
- Map 2 - Search and Destroy
- Map 3 - Domination
- Map 4 - Hardpoint
- Map 5 - Search and Destroy
- Map 6 - Domination
- Map 7 - Hardpoint
- Map 8 - Search and Destroy
Prize Pool
The total prize pool this year is a whopping $4,600,000, and the CDL has made some adjustments to reward teams that made it to the playoffs in a more balanced way. As a result, the prize money for the top places is smaller.
The distribution is as follows:
- 1st - $1.5 million
- 2nd - $900,000
- 3rd - $600,000
- 4th- $450,000
- 5th-6th - $300,000 (2 teams)
- 7th-8th - $175,000 (2 teams)
- 9th-10th - $100,000 (2 teams)
