The official Multiplayer Mode in Black Ops Cold War was unveiled only a short time ago, but it seems that a significant change there is the time to kill, according to YouTuber TheXclusiveAce.
The time to kill, or TTK, is an important factor in every FPS game. If it’s short or low then players will quickly grow frustrated, since they feel as though they have no time to defend themselves because they die after getting shot once. If it’s too long or high, it'll also lead to frustration as it might feel like you’re wasting magazines of ammo on a single kill. Finding the right balance isn’t always easy and with every Call of Duty, the TTK seems to be changing.
Increased Health = Higher TTK
The first gameplay footage of Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer offers us more detailed insights into the game. As we already know, players in Black Ops Cold War will have 150 HP instead of the usual 100 HP in Modern Warfare. In fact, Black Ops Cold War is the only CoD part besides Black Ops 4 where players have increased health by default, which is why it’s not surprising that the TTK has also been raised.
The YouTuber TheXclusiveAce, who is famous for his weapon, gadget, etc. reviews has taken a deep dive into the TTKs of Black Ops 4, Modern Warfare, and Balck Ops Cold War. Here are his results:
For his test, the YouTuber looked into the average TTK in the Alpha for Assault rifles, machine pistols, and light machine guns in the three games and compared them. It’s easy to see that the TTK is similar to that of Black Ops 4. The TTK in Modern Warfare is significantly faster. TheXclusiveAce illustrates the difference by explaining that for assault rifles, the average number of hits required increases from 3-4 in MW to 4-5 in BOCW.
But it really gets juice once you look at the Headshot Multiplier With 1.1x the multiplier almost seemed non-existent in BO4 and therefore had little effect on the TTK. After a few tests, TheXclusiveAce found out that the Headshot-Multiplier in BOCW was around 1.4x. He went on to explain that it is possible to minimize the number of shots taken to kill an opponent if you land a headshot. This means that only 3-4 hits, as in Modern Warfare, instead of 4-5 would be necessary for a kill.

Conclusion
Looking at the analysis it seems that the TTK in BOCW will lay between BO4 and MW. Whoever lands shots onto a player's body will have the TTK of BO4, while those who manage a headshot will be far closer to the TTK of MW.
Just be aware that many of the numbers used by TheXclusiveAce are from the Alpha of Black Ops Cold War. Many things can still change until the release on November 13.
