The full team list for CS:GO's DreamHack Open Anaheim tournament is now clear after the closed qualifiers came to their conclusion through the weekend. Complexity, Gen.G and forZe all made the cut for the main stage where they will fight for a piece of the $100,000 pie.
With the LAN Finals set to take place in Anaheim, California, the North American branch of the qualifiers got one more spot than the European, allowing for both compLexity and Gen.G to break into the final eight of the tournament.
The double Gs took down Chaos and Riot Squad to qualify while Complexity eliminated INTZ and eUnited on the other side of the bracket. This loss marked back-to-back missed chances of a DreamHack LAN for eUnited. The Abadir brothers and co. came up short against Cloud9 in the DreamHack Open Leipzig Closed qualifier final the week prior.
There was only one spot for the taking in the European leg of qualifiers and it was Russian outfit forZe that claimed it. No one could argue they had the luck of the draw on their side. Consecutive wins against Winstrike, CR4ZY and Heroic, the latter two without dropping a map, is proof enough that forZe was the most deserving team to make the trip to Cali.
With these three confirmed the team list for Anaheim looks like this:
- ENCE
- Made in Brazil
- North
- FURIA
- Endpoint
- compLexity
- Gen.G
- forZe
This is the first time the DreamHack Open circuit comes to Anaheim. The city is not unfamiliar with CS:GO tournaments, however, having hosted the ECS Season 2 Finals back in 2016. The DreamHack Open Anaheim finals take place in February - from the 21s to the 23rd.
