EA Sports announced the exciting news that Copa Libertadores – the South American equivalent of the Champions League, is going to be introduced in FIFA 20 as part of a game update coming March 3.
EA Sports are bringing South American football to FIFA 20
The South American package will not be limited to just the Copa Libertadores. Its sister tournament, Copa Sudamericana, is also making its way into FIFA 20, as well as the South American Recopa. For those unfamiliar with South American football – these are the equivalents of the Europa League and European Supercup, respectively.
In addition to the new tournaments, EA are making sure players get that unmatched feeling from playing in front of some of the most passionate fans in the world. Two new stadiums, authentic match presentation, branding, pitch props, and new headscans are also to be included in the update, assuring players they’ll get the full experience. The names of the new stadiums are kept in secret for now, but with South America you know you’re getting something good regardless.
Of course, FIFA Ultimate Team is not going to be left behind. EA have promised custom CONMEBOL in-game content that would tie the region into the grand FUT scheme seamlessly.
The South American update is free of charge and is going to become available for download on March 3. All you need is a fully updated version of FIFA 20 for PC, PlayStation 4 or XBOX One and internet connection. Excited yet?
