If you have not heard the news yet, here is something that you will be interested in. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač finally left FaZe Clan. Even the plea from Marcelo “coldzera” David's mother did not help and Nikola has united with his cousin, Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač. This is the first time that these two hard-hitters will play together, so here is our take on this transfer and how will it affect G2.
Does G2 Need a New Player?
When it comes to firepower, G2 definitely need someone like Nikola. He adds so much pressure and opening kills that he is a perfect fit for any CS:GO team out there. On top of that, top Counter-Strike rosters are expanding and they are signing six or seven players that can play for the team.
Rumor is, the same will happen to G2. François "AmaNEk" Delaunay will probably be substituted and NiKo will take his place. Bear in mind that nothing is confirmed yet and the organization itself stated that they are evaluating their options.
To top things off, G2 is in a slump right now. At one point, they were considered the best CS:GO team in the world. However, in the coming months, they dropped off massively all the way down to the 13th spot.
To summarize all of this, G2 definitely need to mix things up and bringing NiKo in to fill the voids is a step in the right direction.
What Will NiKo Bring to G2?
If you ever watched a Tier 1 event where NiKo competed, you could have heard commentators calling for NiKo’s name all the time. Yes, he is that good. However, this puts a lot of pressure on his back and at times, he tends to underperform.
Given the fact that he now has an established team behind himself and trusted teammates, the perfect formula for him is right here in G2. Alongside insane individual skill, Nikola was often used as a one-man army.
He is also capable of leading the team and helping out with the IGL (in-game leader) role. On top of that, Nikola has loads of experience that he can transfer to his teammates who have not yet competed in front of the big crowds.
With NiKo, Are G2 a #1 CS:GO Team?
A lot of people will rate G2 as the best CS:GO team in the world now that they have NiKo. Truth be told, we have seen even better teams (individually) go to waste.
Right now, teams such as Heroic are proving to everyone that team chemistry and synergy are worth more than individual skill.
There is no denying that G2 will climb the ranks in the coming months. From our point of view, G2 belongs in front of OG, NiP, fnatic, BIG and FURIA.
To conclude, if you are a G2 fan, then you must be ecstatic. A lot of CS:GO fans and enthusiasts called for this roster change because they wanted cousins to unite. Now that they are finally together, it is time to find out what is the limit for these two Bosnian superstars.
