Dapr joins Valorant, Bad News Bears are no more

Bad News Bears
We're going to miss the reading bear.

Bad news for Bad News Bears fans. The improvised North American squad’s boat was rocked in the last 24 hours by the confirmation that two of its members will pursue other options, which quickly led to the announcement that BNB’s time has come to an end.

Dapr joins the NA Valorant legion

Michael “dapr” Gulino is the latest name in a long list of North American CS:GO players who chose to give up on the 8-year-old FPS and make the switch to Riot Games’ Valorant instead. Most of those come from the same place as dapr – stuck in low tier NA CS without stable organizational backing and not a lot of hope for any significant improvements. With the coronavirus pandemic making things even harder, we can’t really blame any of the boys for making the jump.

The other Bad News Bears member to go his own way is Jonathan “Jonji” Carey. He is joining Chaos Esports Club’s ranks as a replacement for youngster Nathan “leaf” Orf who only played four games for Chaos during his one week trial period. Valorant steps into the frame once more as leaf’s abrupt departure is heavily linked with a move to Valorant. It’s ok, guys, Counter-Strike can never die. Right? Right?!!!

All of this left Bad News Bears with three members available in a matter of hours and it didn’t take long for one of them – Will “dazzLe” Loafman to come out with the announcement that the team will not continue its existence. In a short, but profound tweet, dazzLe stated his love for Counter-Strike and his intent of staying with the game he’s known and loved all his life. At least for now.

The remaining members of what used to be Bad News Bears – Peter “ptr” Gurney and Mitch “mitch” Semago have not disclosed any future plans as of now. Braxton “Brax” Pierce, Hunter “SicK” Mims and another former bad news bear – Austin “crashies” Roberts are just some of the North American CS:GO pros to leave the scene these past couple of months. Who will be next on the Valorant bandwagon?
