Well, it's technically not a FIFA 21 TOTW, aka Team of the Week, because the game launches next week, but it is the first one of the new 2020/21 football season, so it kind of fits the bill. In any sense, TOTW is back and it will hopefully be a lot more useful than the last few of last season's outings.
First FIFA 21 TOTW Coming Later Today
TOTW is a FIFA Ultimate Team staple throughout the active football season, so of course EA Sports are going to reintroduce is it in FIFA 21. The game itself launches on October 9, that's next Friday, so this one and next week's teams are going to be a precursor of the title.
The first TOTW of the 2020/21 season is going to drop at precisely 19:00 CEST with a selection of the top performers across the board in the top leagues. Jamie Vardy's input in Leicester's 5-2 drubbing of Manchester City, for example, will probably be awarded with a boosted special card of the striker.
Team of the Week 1 will be unveiled and released Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT/6 p.m. UK. Future TOTWs will follow that same pattern.

The Wednesday at 19:00 schedule of release is going to be kept throughout the season, bar some unexpected circumstances. FIFA fans will be hoping these new squads are of more use than the last ones we got during the summer. Back then the cards were almost exclusively much worse than the Team of the Season (TOTS) or Headliners cards, among others, which were already available at the time due to the coronavirus delays. Usually, TOTWs are obsolete by the time TOTS packs are released, but that wasn't the case this time.

Considering it's the beginning of a new season and we have a clean sheet to work with, the disasters that were those summer TOTWs should be a thing of the past. We're eagerly awaiting to see the first names on this year's circuit and will share it with you once they arrive.
