With only a couple of days remaining on the Dota 2 2020 Battle Pass there’s still one major piece missing in terms of content – Immortal Treasure III.
2020 has been a rough year not only for Dota 2 but for the whole world. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the lives of many were changed for over half a year. With travel restrictions and mandatory quarantine in most countries, big events were impossible. Thankfully, esports continues to thrive even in an online environment. The Dota 2 International might not be happening this year, as fans will have to wait until August 2021 but in terms of prize money, the event has already gathered over $36 million. That’s a record-breaking number and the biggest prize pool for a single event in the history of esports. How did the prize pool get that big? The community.
The 2020 Battle Pass
Just like every year, 25% of all Battle Pass sales go directly into the prize pool for The International. To name a few, this includes the pass itself, extra levels, and treasures. Regarding the latter, a total of three were to be released with this year’s Battle Pass. So far, only Immortal Treasure I and II are out. Where’s Immortal Treasure III you may ask? We’re wondering the same thing, as there are only 4 days remaining from the 2020 pass.

Originally the Battle Pass was supposed to come to an end on September 12, three days ago, but Valve decided to extend the period with an extra week. Why? The Dota 2 servers were a total mess and issues with the in-game coordinator caused the game to be literally unplayable. In response, Valve extended the duration but looking at it now if they didn’t might have never seen Immortal Treasure III. It’s all speculation but Valve were probably making sure they’ll have time to release everything within the given timeframe. It won’t be much of a surprise if the company decides to extend the Battle Pass even further than September 19.
The last time we heard from the Dota 2 Twitter account was when the Windranger arcana was released.
A Reddit user noticed a very interesting detail regarding the latest exclusive skin.
Back in April, even the Battle Pass wasn't out! It seems Valve had it ready a long time ago but they decided to hold it for last. Is that also the case with Immortal Treasure III?
The company’s delay this year is more than ever. Not too long ago, a Valve employee shared on Reddit that due to the global pandemic work was taking longer than usual. The Battle Pass itself was released a few weeks later than expected but little did we know that the actual content within it will also take so long. As Team Secret put it:
Maybe the real Immortal Treasure III is the friends we made along the way? pic.twitter.com/4WmGjR6Vst

Jokes aside, a lot of people won’t be happy to get the final treasure so late in the Battle Pass. After all, it’s tied to achievements and levels so some players might just be waiting for it in order to get the reward they want. Sadly, any seasonal effects and voice lines will be gone in four days.
