Epic Esports Events aka the organizers of EPICENTER have announced the Dota 2 Epic League. The big event is set to kick off in early November.
There are currently numerous Dota 2 events underway. The most notable ones are ESL One Germany and DOTA Summit 13 but what’s next? Well, we already know as Epic Esports Events announced the Dota 2 Epic League.
The organizers of EPICENTER were already involved in multiple Dota 2 online tournaments. Next up is the Epic League. Teams from Europe and the CIS will compete for a total prize pool of $500,000. The tournament is set to kick off on November 3 and conclude on December 13.

The Teams
So far, the organizers have only revealed the list of eight invited teams which include:
- Team Secret
- OG
- Alliance
- Natus Vincere
- Team Liquid
- Team Nigma
- Vikin.gg
- Virtus.pro
More teams will surely join the fight as open qualifiers for the event are set to start tomorrow. Epic League will start two days after the conclusion of ESL One Germany so teams participating there won’t have to play in two events simultaneously. Two of the teams from the list above were already eliminated in the ESL tournament – OG and Team Nigma. Whether Nigma’s captain Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi will make a return for Epic League remains to be seen. The team played with their captain as a substitute for the past two events.
Team Secret are currently the favorites for ESL One Germany and they’ll probably serve the same role in the upcoming event.
We’re really curious about Virtus.pro as the Russian organization recently benched its entire roster. Rumors of a new team featuring some of the best players from the CIS and SumaiL might come true before the start of the Epic League. As usual, only time will tell.
