T1 have made some surprising changes to their Dota 2 team after qualifying for the Singapore Major. The squad parted ways with Souliya "JaCkky" Khoomphetsavong and welcomed Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon.
The Dota Pro Circuit 2021 is almost halfway through. Every region except China has already determined the top teams and the Singapore Major is waiting at the end of March. You know what that means - roster changes!
We already saw some teams make notable changes in the past week. Today, T1 announced that Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon will be filling the void after Souliya "JaCkky" Khoomphetsavong left the squad earlier.

JaCkky leaving was quite the surprise as he played for the team throughout the entire season only to get kicked after T1 qualified for the major. Weird eh? In doing this change, T1 will suffer quite a lot of penalties in terms of DPC points. Let's take a look at Valve's official FAQ for the DPC 2021:
When can teams no longer switch players? Teams can drop players from the end of the league up until the Tuesday after the Major at 12PM PST, receiving a 15% penalty to their points up to that point. Teams participating in the major will receive a penalty to their major points as well, as stated above if they change roster before the major ends. After that period, teams can no longer release players from their roster. However, teams can still add players if they don't have a full set of 5 up until 12PM PST on the Sunday one week after the Seasons's Major concludes, at which point all teams will be considered locked. This separation is meant to prevent players being dropped last minute without giving them a possibility to join a new team.
Any points T1 earned up until now will be reduced by 15%.
Can a team play with subs?Yes. During the league, a team must play with at least 4 of its 5 registered players (this will cause no penalty). Any team that plays a major with a sub will incur a 40% penalty on points earned from that tournament.
That's 40% less points coming from the first major.
Can a team remove a player after qualifying to a major? Yes. However, a team that removes a player after securing a slot at a major, will have a 20% deduction to the points obtained during that event in addition to the normal penalty.
In case you thought 40% were a lot, add an extra 20%. T1 are in a tough spot as if they fail to get a high placement in the Singapore Major this one change wouldn't really be worth it.
