Dr DisRespect was banned from the Twitch streaming platform some time ago. Now he spoke for the first time about his perception of the events.
The 38-year-old is not loved by fans for his restraint or his honesty, but since the Twitch ban, even the showman cannot hide his feelings behind his fictional character. For a long time, there were speculations about Herschel "Dr DisRespect" Beahm and his silence. Now, after his first statements, we know what Beahm experienced.
Dr DisRespect's Uncertain Future
In his first interview since Twitch threw him off the platform, Beahm's answers were gloomy and thoughtful. He often spoke about the community he had built and how he sees the future. In an interview with the Washington Post Dr DisRespect shared:
I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety. You know, my wife and I both, this is our livelihood. We worked really hard to get to this point. Let’s just say I’ve felt all of the emotions that you could possibly feel.
Beahm also claims that he still does not know why Twitch canceled his 2-year exclusive contract after only 2 months.
Honestly, we just don’t know. It was a total shock. Imagine showing up to work and the doors are closed and you can’t get inside. You’re going, ‘What’s going on?’ And you’ve been told you’ve been fired. But you haven’t been told the reason why. We just weren’t given an answer. … It was the worst feeling.

Twitch Remains Silent
Twitch made no comment on the incident. On the day of the decision to ban Dr DisRespect, they simply made the following statement: "As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.“
However, they still do not disclose which guidelines or terms of use Dr DisRespect is alleged to have violated.
What is the Next Step?
Beahm and his team are already considering possible next steps.
We worked really hard to get to this point, and all of a sudden it’s just like everything’s kind of halted. But, you know, I’m surrounded by a good team. And we’re putting together a nice little game plan. I’m really excited to take things to the next level.
Sounds to us as if we will see Dr DisRespect streaming again soon, the only question is on which platform. Beahm's fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
