The DreamLeague Season 13 is still in motion. We’re already into one of the last days of the Dota 2 Leipzig Major as the number of teams was reduced to five.

Invictus Gaming versus beastcoast

Opening for the fourth day of DreamLeague Season 13 was the series with the last remaining South American team. Beastcoast managed to eliminate Nigma before that and now had to face the Chinese Invictus Gaming.

IG’s mid-lane Leshrac was very successful and managed to carry the game on his shoulders. The South Americans were caught off-guard as both their cores died without having enough gold for a buyback which concluded the first match.

The second game had its back-and-forth moments but was evenly matched overall, with neither team getting a decent gold or experience advantage. IG implemented the same strategy and caught beastcoast unprepared yet again. Killing them off one by one, the series concluded in a 2-0 in favor of the Chinese. Invictus Gaming moved onward to face Evil Geniuses.

Team Liquid versus TNC Predator

Game 1 was pretty even until around minute 20. After that Liquid tightened their grip around the map by pushing all lanes and keeping TNC locked up inside their base. It all came down to a fight right after Liquidkilled Roshan and grabbed the aegis. The European roster managed to wipe out 4 out of 5 and TNC Predator were forced to call it a game since none of them had a buyback.

Game 2 went really well for the SEA team as both their mid and safe lanes dominated the enemy. It took TNC Predator 44 minutes to even the score after some nicely placed Static Storms by Timothy John “Tims” Randrup which allowed them to melt the opposing Morphling.

The final match was a constant hunt between the two teams. Enigma on the side of Liquid and Earthshaker for TNC were both looking for the right moment to use their ultimates and turn the game around. Tommy “Taiga” Le on the Enigma had much more of an advantage and items and managed to seal the deal with a series of Black Holes, sending the SEA team back home.

Taiga already had an amazing feat in this tournament with his epic defense against Virtus.pro and he continues to ramp up as Liquid have been on a streak through the lower bracket. Their next opponent will be Alliance, the organization where the current roster of Liquid was formed.

Evil Geniuses versus Invictus Gaming

The first match was a playground for Abed “Abed” Yusop on the Outworld Devourer, as he managed to completely shut down the enemy storm and take control of the game. Once he got a Black King Barand Scythe of Vyse, IG were in a world of hurt. The Chinese team was too far behind and their downfall came after 27 minutes.

Game 2 was a fast one with IG setting the tempo. Evil Geniuses made the mistake of picking Anti-Mage who took more time to come online than most other carries. Meanwhile, the Clinkz on IG completed a Scythe of Vyse in 24 minutes, making every hero a potential victim. The American team relied entirely on Artour “rtz” Babaev’s Anti-mage to defend the base, but sadly, he was killed off and EG called “gg” 37 minutes in.

In the final match of the series, IG decided to pick Anti-mage for themselves, perhaps hoping that every other lane would go well. That wasn’t the case as their Monkey King mid lost to the Abed Storm Spirit and things quickly escalated. Anti-mage was the only hero on the side of IG who had some potential to bring it back, but with EG’s cores growing bigger thanks to the gold lead, it all became an impossible task. Evil Geniuses itemized properly, knew their limits and coordinated well during every teamfight all of which brought them the victory.

With IG leaving the event the only other remaining Chinese team are Vici Gaming who wait in the comfort of the Upper Bracket. As for EG, their next opponent will come from Europe, but whether it’d be Alliance or Liquid remains to be seen.
