Scarlett Johansson and Disney's ongoing legal battle has worsened. The superstar isn't backing down - and neither are they. So if you were hoping for more Black Widow films...we've got bad news for you. Any future plans between Disney and Scarlett Johansson have effectively been cancelled. Scarlett Johansson, the leading actress in the latest Marvel film, Black Widow, recently filed a lawsuit against Disney in the Los Angeles Superior Court. She claims that her contract was breached when the media giant released the film on its streaming service Disney + at the same time as it opened in theaters. But you didn't think Disney would take it lying down, did you?
The Dispute Between Disney And Scarlett Johansson
We can empathize with Scarlett. Imagine rehearsing for a play all year and then on the day of your performance the recordings of your dress rehearsal are sold for a few cents. I think everyone would feel pretty betrayed there. But instead of Disney admitting their mistake, they're doing everything they can to undermine the complaint.A Disney spokesman said Ms. Johansson's lawsuit was unfounded and "particularly sad and harrowing in its callous disregard for the dire and long-lasting global impact of the Covid-19 pandemic". The company said it had "completely fulfilled Ms. Johansson's contract, and moreover, the release of Black Widow on Disney + with Premier Access has greatly improved her chances of earning additional compensation on top of the $20 million she has received so far."Wow, Disney have some gall to accuse her of callous disregard. But it's a smart legal play; nothing will turn public attention against her more quickly than reminding the public of how absurdly wealthy she is compared to them.

Disney Cancel Future Plans With Scarlett Johansson
Disney has been heavily criticized for its fiery public response to the lawsuit - but that won't stop these guys. And according to the website Giant Freakin Robot, Disney are now moving to completely end the relationships with Scarlett Johansson. Perhaps she was expecting them to be less vengeful? Either way, you can assume projects like Tower of Terror are now cancelled. As good as she was in her superhero roles, Marvel fans shouldn't waste time hoping for more of the actress' MCU appearances.Well done Disney.
