Our Artist of the Day is Kòkolash!
Kòkolash revolves around the development of the Electro-Soul concept. Four creators exploring the merge of conventional instruments with computer generated music. Analog and digital sounds producing hip hop beats, jazz inspired harmonies and soulful melodies with one mission: creating new emotions through music.
The journey of the band started when several of their members moved from different parts of the world to Barcelona in 2017, looking for an exciting city where they could develop their music careers. Jose, Juan and Fede met at Liceu’s school of jazz and modern music, where they shared studies, musical ideas and the hunger for starting an original band with roots in soul, jazz and hip hop. After meeting the electronic music producer Jozz Santos, together, they decide to explore the mix of standard instruments with computer generated music through the project Kòkolash.
Kòkolash first single, Enjoy, becomes a widely featured song in many Neo Soul playlists on Spotify and is reviewed by notorious music blogs like Stereofox, allowing the band to be heard in more than 60 countries around the world.
