Damn it's gotta feel good to be a gangster. And it doesn't get more gangster than what Elon just did: The man bought Twitter. Not a company acquiring a company, no, a lone man, buying the world's most important communication and news platform. Holy crap.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again here: Elon is on a journey to become a real-life Tony Stark, and I'm willing to make reasonable bets, that he'll be responsible for the world's first superhero.

Joe Rogan Says Musk is a "Superhero" for Twitter Purchase

Joe Rogan learned about Elon Musk's confirmed purchase of Twitter live whilst recording an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast starring Jessica Kirson. During the Episode, Jamie announces that Elon Musk had just bought twitter for $44 Billion USD and Joe Rogan absolutely lost his s**t:

Oh, s**t! Elon Musk just bought Twitter! We got a movie star type of superhero. It’s like a movie. Like if you had a movie, and there’s a guy who’s like a hero in the movie who happened to be a billionaire and does wild s**t.

Rogan then goes on to explain how Elon Musk is a champion of free speech and that this is fantastic news for social media users. He makes the claim that Musk believes that free speech is important "but not just important, vital for a functioning democracy."

Whether or not you agree with Rogan's opinion on this matter, or whether or not you think that Elon Musk is going to be a good thing for Twitter, there is one thing that really needs to be said: Twitter is a small and overly-vocal ecosystem of people and ideas, and this will not have a revolutionary effect on the world.

Sure, Trump proved that Twitter is important, but we all need to remember that the end-times are not coming, and everything is going to be okay. Seriously...

Elon Musk Buys Twitter in Its Entirety

After buying a measly 10% at first, Elon now made Twitter a part of his business empire. Of course, it's a bit scary to think that a man as eccentric as Elon Musk bought something as significant as Twitter, but here are some nice words from Musk himself to make you feel better about it all:

Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. Twitter has tremendous potential — I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.

Now, of course, Elon is all about free speech: He's been on the controversial side of Twitter more than once, threatening politicians, getting on the bad side of the transgender community, and making controversial claims about COVID.

So, when we hear Elon claiming his vision for Twitter is true free speech... I'll take the man at his word. Actually, here is his word:

[I will] make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.Even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.

Will this lead to more hate speech, misinformation and harassment, or is all of that just a part of free speech? Will Elon let Trump back on the platform, and potentially be a major factor in the 2024 elections? Only time will tell.
