Heads are gonna roll real soon in CS:GO as the FBI is on the tails of a large match-fixing ring within the Valve FPS' esports scene. The investigation is already deep, and we could very well see the results in the next couple of weeks.
CS:GO is one of the most popular esports in the world and by far the most popular of all the shooters. A developed esports scene allows for plenty of scheming but the authorities aren't sleeping.
CS:GO Match-Fixing: The FBI Is on the Case!
CS:GO is not unfamiliar with match-fixing scandals. The iBUYPOWER debacle is one of the most notorious scandals not only in the shooter's history, but in all esports. Years later it appears that folks aren't learning from past mistakes.

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has been working on and sadly proving many cases of match-fixing within CS:GO esports in recent weeks. Their own investigation has gradually merged with FBI business, hence why they are taking their time with revealing the evidence.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has shown interest in ESIC's findings and wanted to take actions in their own hands as this is essentially no different than a "regular" betting scheme in any other field.
ESIC revealed that the North American system for match-fixing that they are aware of is very structured and much more professional than, say, the iBUYPOWER situation from years ago.
The bulk of the culprits are operating within the NA Mountain Dew League (MDL) but they might find out what a real M4 looks like very soon when the FBI comes knocking at the door.
