The new Halo TV show from Paramount+ is almost upon us, and the early reviews are in: it's not looking good. We are still holding out hope, though, seeing as the show's couple of trailers have been pretty darn solid and - let's be real - the concept is bizarre enough that thinking of it as a "serious TV show" seems like a bit of a silly decision on the part of some reviewers.

Now, I do firmly believe that the new Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power show from Amazon Studios will be better than Halo, but that doesn't mean all is lost. The most recent trailers were pretty awesome, and it has some pretty solid cast members, so it won't be until we drop our review that we pass any true judgement here. Look, it's not going to be The Batman - that film is a masterpiece, after all - but that doesn't mean we need to be down on every video game-adaptation out there. Let's dive in...

What Do We Know About The Halo TV Show?

We know that the Halo TV Show will take place during the 26th-century and center around the Human-Covenant conflict. The show will feature Master Chief as well as the likes of Doctor Halsey and Cortana. We don't know yet if we will meet The Arbiter in the TV Show and, no, we haven't watched the show yet as we don't want any spoilers.

Over the course of the two cinematic trailers that have been released for the Paramount+ Halo TV Show, we have had a lot already spoiled for the show's story, and don't really want to do the same for you. Watch those trailers at your own discretion, you may be in for some pretty solid spoilers.

What we will say, though, is that Showtime Networks' President and CEO spoke to Deadline about the show and said the following:

Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded... In the history of television, there simply has never been enough great science fiction. Kyle Killen’s scripts are thrilling, expansive and provocative, Rupert Wyatt is a wonderful, world-building director, and their vision of Halo will enthrall fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.

When is the Halo TV Show Release Date?

The Halo TV Series will release on March 24, 2022, exclusively on Paramount+. Only the first few episodes will initially be available for streaming on Paramount's new platform, before new episodes will release each and every week. These episodes will assumedly release on Thursdays, considering that March 24 is, in fact, a Thursday.

Okay, yeah, we know what you're about to say: who the fork are all of these characters, I only recognize like five names? Yeah, sorry, we don't know either. We assume that the "-000" characters are Spartans, though, as that is generally how their name tags are formatted, i.e. John-117.

Will There Be A Halo Season 2?

Yes, the Paramount+ Halo TV Show has been greenlit for a second season. It is unknown whether the entire cast will return for the second season, but we can be sure that the show will continue on from where it left off regardless of whether the first season is successful when it launches later this month, or not. It will be interesting to see how it goes, because this is a project that could easily fall off the rails.
