YouTube has announced the first-ever interactive gaming livestream called "YouTube: Game On". The self-proclaimed "biggest gaming special ever" is expected to run for about 2 hours and feature content from more than 60 popular content creators. Meanwhile, viewers can play along by voting in real time on unique gaming challenges and influencing the course of the stream. Here come the details.
Interactive YouTube: Game On Event Explained
YouTube's announced interactive livestream aims to celebrate the variety of gaming content that makes up YouTube gaming culture, from entertaining gaming challenges and surprising gameplay moments to honoring classic gaming anniversaries, all inspired by the most popular trends on the platform.
The goal is to celebrate everything related to gaming, with a lot of well-known talents and creators present on the platform. Or, to be more precise, those who are better known on YouTube than on other platforms. Every creator will be playing a series of games that are mainly party games, or games that allow a lot of participants.
Segments include "a series of terrifying horror challenges" and the Sean Evans-hosted "Hot Ones Challenge," which pits viewer-selected players against each other playing Street Fighter 6, with the defeated players having to eat increasingly spicy chicken wings. "Grandma & Gran-Poppy Playtime" will feature unsuspecting seniors trying to be the last person standing in the survival horror game Poppy Playtime.
The games featured in the stream include the following:
- Among Us
- Fall Guys
- Fortnite
- Free Fire, Friday Night Funkin'
- Grand Theft Auto V, Minecraft
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Poppy Playtime
- Rocket League
- Street Fighter 6
- Trackmania
