Imane "Pokimane" Anys has been a dominating force on Twitch and in the streaming community for years. She is one of the most viewed streamers and has built up her own brand over time. After a successful 2022 it seems that she's got other plans for 2023 though.
What does the 26-year-old have planned for the new year and is she going to be leaving Twitch and YouTube altogether?
Pokimane to Focus on New Experiences in 2023
In 2022 Pokimane took an extended break to focus on her mental health, getting off Twitch for a solid three months before returning in September 2022 with a new streaming schedule. Now, we might get even less Poki in 2023.
On her personal Twitter account Pokimane explained that her number one priority for the new year is to experience new things, as well as get into the best shape of her life.
She went on to state that "this might be the first year where content isn't a priority of mine, but I think it's better to explore, evolve and output more when I feel like it." Basically it sounds like she is a bit burnt out from streaming and wants to have new experiences to reset her mental and not have Twitch/YouTube be her main focus.
This is a healthy approach since then the content she will provide will be better and more inspired than forcing herself to stream day in and day out, making uninspired content.
So, Pokimane won't be leaving Twitch, but we will likely be seeing less of her on the platform. She will likely continue to post on her TikTok, as well as social media whatever she is doing next year so we can still follow her there!
