The Xbox Series X and PS5 are still a hot commodity, well over 1 year after their release. That's why scalpers still continue to profit off of selling and re-selling the systems.
The name is Max Hayden. Max Hayden is 16. Max Hayden sold consoles in excess of $1 million. He sold them for $1.7 million to be exact. His profit? $110,000. At age 16. Not bad.
How is this possible? Well, people are still scrapping to get their hands on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. One of the many reasons is that the black market snatches them up before retailers can. As a result, these so-called scalpers sell the consoles for much more than any sensible retailer would, and line their pockets with cash.
Max Hayden is one of these people, and earned himself a report in the Wall Street Journal for his exploits. He sold consoles for $1.7 million over the course of 18 months, by buying the consoles and selling them at double the price. Aside from just consoles, Hayden also sold other hard-to-get items like patio heaters, Pokémon cards, and sneakers. Yes, this 16-year-old is a full-blown hustler, and is now co-renting a warehouse with two friends, to keep up with his orders. Meanwhile, the kid is also going to school. What can you say? There's nothing to really hate on here, just a 16-year-old who found a much more profitable business than paper routes.
