Warner Bros. just announced an official release date for the Minecraft live-action adaptation starring Jason Momoa.
Video game adaptations seem to be popular at the moment, with the Super Mario movie as well as the HBO series based on the Last of Us releasing early this year. Now a Minecraft movie starring Jason Momoa has been revealed, and we even have a release date.
Minecraft Movie Finally Gets A Release Date
The Minecraft movie is set to hit cinemas on April 4, 2025. This is still a few years down the line, which might be a good chance for people to get used to the fact, that Jason Momoa might just be playing Minecraft Steve in the upcoming adaptation.

Originally Shawn Levy was planned to direct the movie (like almost ten years ago), but has since been replaced by Jared Hess.
At the moment, the casting of Jason Momoa is received with a bit of backlash, but so was Chris Pratt voicing Mario and from what I've been seeing in the reviews, he is doing a pretty good job with that.
- If you're lucky enough, this might be your chance to get a PS5 and play some Minecraft or Minecraft Dungeons on a next gen console. Unless you're a PC gamer, that is, then you can upgrade your system here.
So sit back, relax, grab some popcorn and let's wait for a trailer first before judging the project too quickly.
